System 2 - Be your own agent

What you get out of your website largely depends on what you put into it. Consider having a professional photographer take photographs and you may need some help writing the text. At least check out how some of the better agents present their properties.

If you do not tell anyone you have a website you should not expect much to happen. Tell people that your home is on the market. You can do this without spending a fortune. A low cost 3 to 5 line (lineage) advert in your local newspaper to include your telephone number and web address may be enough though a photograph will encourage more to visit your website. Let the website tell your story not your advert.

Plan your advert over several weeks. Advertising is likely to be your only expense during the selling phase. Don’t sit back and do nothing.

From time to time you may wish to change and give your advert and/or website a fresh feel. However, the most important thing is to keep it in the public eye.
